Empire State
Earrings

If you look at the bottom photograph, it will be obvious what my color inspiration was for these earrings. As for the shape, that just appeared in my mind on its own. I made two pair of these in order to try out two different approaches to enameling: transparent combined with opaque, and transparent only. I liked the way they both came out so I decided to finish them both.

Pair number 1 utilizes opaque yellow enamel over transparent purple and blue. The beads are very tiny Pink Tourmalines, strung on gold-plated steel cable, with gold-filled crimps and handmade gold-filled ear wires. Pair number 2 (this page) is all transparent enamel and features clear Quartz beads. They each measure 1-3/4 inches wide x approximately 2 inches from the ear wire to the bottom.
